Xiaomi launches new Xiaomi Ai smart speakers alongside Mi Band 4, price starts at around Rs 1,666

Both the Xiao Ai Speaker Universal Remote Edition and Xiao Ai Speaker Play can not only stream music but mi band 4 can read stories to children, and plat various other online content.

  • xiaomi hosted its ecosystem event in China on Tuesday. The star of the event was Mi Band 4 that now is much advanced and feature packed when compared to Mi Band 3. Alongside the Mi Band 4 Xiaomi also announced several other ecosystem products like Washing machine, dryer, kitchen vent fan, smart cooking pots and also smart speaker. Xiaomi launched two smart speakers in China on Monday and their price starts at $24 that roughly translates to Rs 1,666. Like past years we expect the Mi Band to come to India but not sure whether the other ecosystem products will be available in the country.

    Both the Xiao Ai Speaker Universal Remote Edition and Xiao Ai Speaker Play are powered by the company's Xiao Ai assistant. Both the smart speakers look compact and can blend well with the living room. The Xiao Ai Speaker Universal Remote Edition is launched in one colour variant - black - and boasts a rectangular prism design. The Xiaomi Xiao Ai Speaker Play, in comparison, comes in white colour and also comes in rectangular prism design.

  • The new Xiaomi smart speakers include controllers -- play or pause button, volume control buttons, microphone mute button -- on the top of the device and are easy to access. Both the Xiaomi smart speakers are capable of controlling several smart home products from both Xiaomi as well as other brands like Phillips and AUX. To connect products from other brands users will need to use WiFi connection. Talking about the products at the event Xiaomi claims the smart speaker is capable of controlling up to 5000 different smart home products. The speaker can connect to other house products in three ways - via Wifi, via Bluetooth, via Infrared.

    Both the Xiao Ai Speaker Universal Remote Edition and Xiao Ai Speaker Play can not only stream music but can read stories to children, and play various other online content. The smart speakers come with a 360-degree far-field microphone, has 4 built-in infrared sensors, Micro USB port, 5V/2A charger, among other things.

    Both the Xiaomi smart speakers come at an affordable price. The Xiao Ai Speaker Universal Remote Edition is launched for $29 that roughly translates to Rs 2,000. The second Xiao Ai Speaker Play smart speaker is cheaper. It comes with a price of $24 that translates to Rs 1,666.
